Butterfly Garden @ Machananao Elementary School

Guam - Machananao Elementary School and the Yigo Mayor’s Office in conjunction with The Guam National Wildlife Refuge and The Guam Department of Agriculture Forestry Division will be constructing a “butterfly garden” in celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week. Participants will be planting trees and shrubbery that are known to attract different species of butterflies.
The project will be the first of this kind at a school site on Guam and will provide numerous educational opportunities for the students at the school in not only science, but in math, language arts, social studies and art.
Ground breaking is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, October 13, at 8:30am and volunteers from the community are welcome to come and lend a hand.
